Pictured above is Gregans Castle Hotel which is located in county Clare. This quietly elegant country house has stunning food in addition to the joys of warming turf fires and unparalleled views across the Burren landscape.
Garden flowers throughout the house reflect the personal style of the owners, who have deftly added light and colour to the period interior, artfully blending antique furniture and paintings with stylish contemporary textiles and interesting modern Irish art. The property has a long and interesting history, going back to a tower house, or small castle, which was built by the O’Loughlen clan between the 10th and 17th centuries, and is still intact.
Surrounded by trees and gardens, Gregans is an oasis of warmth, comfort and hospitality in contrast to the lunar landscape of the surrounding Burren, and can be seen from miles around. Dinner is a treat at Gregans Castle - and people travel great distances to enjoy this sophisticated feast - but they also offer an attractive short à la carte lunch menu and delicious Afternoon Teas too.

It has an Irish 'great house' feel with an American opulence - 'a relaxed country house atmosphere with an unparalleled level of the service' is the aim and, with the apparent ease born of long experience, House Manager Bernie Merry ensures the atmosphere is always warm and service professional.
Good food is a high priority at The Lodge, and there are three choices: Darby's is for everybody, a great spacious pub-like bar where you can have straightforward food like fish and chips, prawn salads, and steaks.
Meals are also offered in the Members' Bar, where the ambience is elegant yet clubby, in the old-fashioned style - and fine dining is offered in The Long Rooms, an intimate restaurant with its own bar, antique mirrors and a great bay window looking on to the ocean.
